A playful piece of European ceramic art with a cross-border provenance, this lidded dish was designed in Paris by Géo and crafted in Portugal circa the 1960s–1970s. Rendered in glazed earthenware majolica, it features a sculpted pink trout perched over sliced lemons, serving as the lid for an oval, basketweave base. Originally created as a decorative kitchen terrine, this piece retains its original foil maker's label on the underside—reading "Collection créée par Géo Paris-France / Je t'aime / Made in Portugal"—and remains in excellent vintage condition with the exception of one repair on the tail.  Whether used to stash small treasures or displayed purely as art, it adds a cheeky splash of vintage camp to your collection.

Sourced in Tarrytown, New York.

Dimensions: 6.25"H, 7.75"L, 5"D.
