This rare pair of Elfinware porcelain lamps date back to the early 1900s. Each lamp features the hallmark Elfinware aesthetic: hand-applied soft roses, intricate moss-green leafwork, and classic basket-weave bases.. Both lamps rest on lucite platform bases and retain their vintage brass Leviton hardware.
The Elfinware bases originated in Germany circa 1900–1930, and were professionally converted to lamps in mid-20th century America, a common and coveted practice among decorators and antique dealers of the era who recognized the beauty of European ceramics for the American market. The conversion hardware itself is now vintage, making these a truly layered piece of decorative history. Sold as a pair.
