This darling bowl represents a quintessential example of Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG), executed in the Inverted Strawberry pattern produced by the Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio, circa 1908–1911. The form is the Master Berry Bowl from a standard berry set, exhibiting the characteristic inverted pressed design of strawberries and trailing vines rendered in clear glass, a style contemporaneously marketed as “Near Cut.” The pattern reflects the late Victorian and early Edwardian taste for naturalistic motifs, as well as the transition from hand-cut to machine-pressed decorative glass in American tableware. The piece holds both decorative and historical significance within the study of early twentieth-century American glass production. It’s a highly collectible and well-documented pattern, valued for both its craftsmanship and charm. The master berry bowl, in particular, is one of the more desirable forms because of its size and display impact.
